Use the established North Shuswap approach. Do not accept an unfamiliar “shortcut” onto another forestry road simply because a navigation app says it is faster.

LIVE VISITOR CHECK

Check Conditions Before Committing to the Gravel

These panels provide current regional context. The final forestry-road section may not be covered by the same real-time reporting, so no alert does not guarantee perfect conditions.

Road Information

Regional Weather

GRAVEL, RVS & WINTER

Let the Road Set the Pace

Conditions vary with weather, grading, traffic and season. Expect dust, washboard, potholes, narrow areas and oncoming work or logging vehicles.

Cars & Trucks

Leave space in dust, slow for blind corners and carry a usable spare tire. After arriving, check tires and anything mounted underneath the vehicle.

RVs & Trailers

Secure the interior before the gravel. Check tire pressure, hitch, safety chains and breakaway cable, then perform another walk-around when you arrive.

Fuel & Supplies

Enter the remote section with a comfortable fuel reserve. Buy medication, specialty food, repair parts and other must-haves before choices become limited.

Winter Travel

Allow extra daylight and carry winter clothing and emergency supplies. Check snow, wind and visibility—not temperature alone—and keep a realistic turnaround plan.

ARRIVING BY WATER

The Lake Is Another Route In

Silver Beach is accessible by road and water. Boaters should check weather, wind, fuel, shoreline conditions and anchoring. BC Parks warns of shallow sandbars in front of the main Silver Beach area.
